The Hartman lab was well-represented at this year’s PMI Day, an annual retreat for Pitt’s Program in Microbiology and Immunology, which was held at the Pittsburgh Brewing Company.
Dr. Cynthia McMillen was the invited faculty speaker in Session 1, giving a talk titled “Hiding in plain sight: understanding vertical transmission of a neglected bunyavirus, Oropouche.”
Rising 4th year PhD candidate Austin Hertel (coffee in hand!) presented a poster titled “RVFV vaccine demonstrates safety and efficacy during pregnancy and neonatal protection through maternal antibody transfer.”
Cade Sterling, 4th year PhD candidate, was involved in the PMI Day Planning Committee and did not present this year but had the important job of taking photos for this blog!! He also chaired Session 2.
Overall, a fantastic day of science from PMI!
